ABOUT US

Vision:

Creating a community where every cat is valued, cared for, and lives a healthy, fulfilling life through our commitment to compassionate TNVR practices and community education.

Mission:

Our mission at Forgotten Felines is to provide compassionate care, including veterinary services and nourishment, to homeless and abandoned cats in the Middle and Lower Keys. Through the humane and effective practice of Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR), we ensure the well-being of these cats while promoting population control. If returning them safely is not feasible, we endeavor to find loving homes locally or in sanctuaries, safeguarding every cat from harm.

Additionally, we are committed to educating the public about responsible cat ownership, emphasizing the importance of spaying/neutering, vaccinations, and proper care. By assisting low-income residents in the Middle & Lower Keys with these services, we aim to eliminate homelessness and abandonment, creating a community where every cat is valued and cared for.

Values:

  1. Compassion: We approach every cat with empathy and compassion, striving to meet their physical and emotional needs.

  2. Collaboration: We believe in the power of partnerships and collaboration to achieve meaningful change for our feline friends and the community.

  3. Integrity: We uphold honesty, transparency, and ethical practices in all our interactions and operations.

  4. Advocacy: We advocate for policies and practices that promote the well-being and welfare of cats, both locally and globally.

  5. Education: We are committed to educating the community about responsible cat ownership, TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return), and humane treatment of animals.

We like to support other nonprofits as well that aren't necessarily cat related.  Payton's Promise Sanctuary is a sanctuary for dogs who are homeless, have special needs, are nearing end-of-life, or otherwise difficult to adopt.  You can find more information about them below:

Pawsitive Beginnings is a non-profit fox sanctuary located in Key Largo, Florida. All of the foxes that reside there were captive-bred in the United States on fur farms where they were born to be killed for fashion items. Many do not realize that farming animals for their fur is still an industry that is very much alive and well in the United States.  Find out more information below:
