President/Director
Megan Hughes
I got involved with Forgotten Felines approximately 13 years ago after moving to 105th Street. I started assisting with the trapping process and then began volunteering and helping with trapping cats and fostering. Not long after Hurricane Irma, I partially took over Forgotten Felines and worked hard to create an impact and educate the public. I have since turned my vacant lot into the "cat lot" as it holds the shed where we hold cats for TNR. As well as being the main location, I have taken in kittens and unwanted cats into my gym. I recently reconstructed the Board of Directors and have taking the lead in making Forgotten Felines the best I can. I enjoy music, dancing, animals, and the ocean!

Gabe Franklin
Gabe Franklin is a true Florida Keys local, born and raised right here in our community. With a lifelong love for animals—especially cats—Gabe has always had a natural connection to the mission of Forgotten Felines.
After moving in with his Aunt Megan, he became more involved behind the scenes and quickly stepped into a larger role within the organization. Now serving as Vice President, Gabe is excited to be part of the team working to make a real difference for colony cats in the Keys.
His passion, local roots, and dedication to helping animals make him a perfect fit for Forgotten Felines, and we’re so happy to have him on board.

Valerie Eikenberg
Years ago I was volunteering at the FKSPCA in Marathon and I inquired about the cats in the next room that had been brought in with white sheets covering their cages. It was explained to me that a group called Forgotten Felines had brought them and they were feral cats that were here to be spayed and neutered. Shortly thereafter I bought my first trap and the rest is history.

Karen Liskey
I moved to the Keys in 1987 and purchased a home on Grassy Key in 1993. I raised my daughter and son there, both graduates of Marathon High. After moving in I began seeing dozens of cats in the area. I began trapping with the help of a neighbor to get them spayed and neutered. That was the start of my involvement with TNR and when Forgotten Felines was organized I became active trapping with them. I recently moved to Big Pine and have been trapping in my new neighborhood. I work as a Realtor with Key Colony Beach Realty since 1999. I enjoy biking, hiking, fishing, and birdwatching.

It is so easy to fall into a pattern of apathy as we go through our lives. Our organization was born out of a commitment to stop passing over the real issues of society, and deal with them head on.
